7 of 7 people found the following review helpful Difficult installation, but solid, By FB (Providence, RI) - See all my reviews This review is from: Thule Aero Foot Pack (Sports) I just installed the Thule 400XT rack -- the original estimate of half an hour though was greatly off the mark. It took me about 2 and a half hours to install the first time. However, one I learned from my mistakes, it was a lot easier to install. The general difficulty I had was very fine tolerance the parts have in attaching them to my '01 Prius. For example, I had to load bars initially upside down (grip side down) which made a big difference in trying to do the initial lock with the tensioning cam (still required a lot of force though). Also, there was little extra leeway on the screws to attach the fit kit to the feet. Lastly, setting the final tabs in place took a while until I realized I could just get a plastic card and push them in while shutting the assembly. After all these hickups, I know how to set it up a lot faster. Othewise, solid construction and it doesn't look like it will move anytime soon. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful work great hold up well needs fit pack to function, By This review is from: Thule Aero Foot Pack (Sports) This is a portion of the Thule system. You need load bars, a fit kit, and a foot pack. This foot pack includes the lock cap (not the locks) and the load bar end caps. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Durable, but noisy, By This review is from: Thule Aero Foot Pack (Sports) This rack is good. It is strong and durable.Only one issue I found. It is noisy. High pitch noise is started on speed above 40 miles per hour. |
