Offering all the features of a roof-mounted cargo box, but at a level that makes all your cargo easily accessible, the Transporter Combi Hitch-Mount Cargo Box allows you to stop carrying a step stool or use the side door opening as a platform to reach items. The Transporter Combi also doesn't keep you from gear stowed in the back of your vehicle, as with the removing of a tethered pin and the lifting of a handle it leans back allowing access to the rear opening of the vehicle. Other features include rugged, UV resistant construction and pre-wired tail lights. Lastly the Transporter is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, and includes a license plate adapter for the rear of the box and all the necessary components for easy assembly and installation.

It has worked out exactly as expected. It's 13 cu. ft. of space doubles the a little more than 13 cu. ft. space of the trunk.Everything was in the box (for both 1 1/4" and 2" hitch receivers), shipping was free (and pretty quick) in addition to $40 or so off the list price by buying from Amazon, assembly and installation was a snap (I already had a 1 1/4" receiver mounted on my Corolla along with the flat plug type wiring necessary for the included lights), and it has done just what I needed on a 3000 mile trip in the West in May - haul my camping equipment while still having the car trunk available for everything else I needed. Only "issue" is just what I expected from putting such a contrapation on the back of my relatively low slung Corolla, i.e., it will occasionally drag when going up or down a sharp... I chose this model instead of the roof cargo because we needed to store bulky luggage items instead of longer, thin items like skis. We fit 3 medium sized 25"x19"x10" suitcases in the box with room for other things. We stuffed it at full weight capacity or more with no problems. I also appreciated that it was at arm level so we could get in and out of it easily during the trip. The placement of the box at the trailer hitch did not affect gas mileage at all, another advantage over roof mounted boxes. The key cannot be removed while the box is open. A nice feature so you don't head down the road with the box open. Sounds silly, but after 2400 miles of driving it can happen.
